You Could Say This Was Our First Field Trip…

My boys love Bass Pro.  To them, Bass Pro is like a wonderful theme park.  Even the glass elevators are considered “rides”.

Bass Pro is a good 45 minute drive for us.  I tend to not go there often because they are so far away, and because I find it difficult to leave that store without dropping a cool $100.  Since Father’s Day is Sunday though, I decided we would go and pick up some things for Daddy.

Thankfully, Jess went with us.  She was able to “explore” the store with the boys while I loaded up the cart.  Every now and then I’d hear a voice above me, “Mommy.  Mooooommmmy.”  I’d look up, and there they all were, grinning ear-to-ear, up on the second floor watching me shop.

We spent only about an hour there and then it was time to go before I depleted the bank account.  I let each of the boys pick out some candy at the checkout (a rare treat) and we headed home.  Their contentment of having gone to their favorite store, made the ride home pretty relaxing.  I thought to myself…I should have brought my camera and deemed this our first “field trip”.  LOL

In our Kindergarten year (just started 2nd grade), we went to a Southeastern Reptile presentation at the Bass Pro Shop and counted it as a field trip! We also tried to walk around and identify animals on display. When we got home we started a book of reptiles in GA so I totally think that counts!
