Rick & Bubba’s Guide to the Almost Nearly Perfect Marriage

I picked up this book from Thomas Nelson’s Blog site.  Since I’m not that familiar with who Rick and Bubba are, I wasn’t really sure what to expect.  My marriage is pretty solid, so I didn’t really need help with that either.  But, I thought it sounded like a fun, light read, and chose it to review.

Rick & Bubba’s Guide to the Nearly Perfect Marriage is a breath of fresh air among marriage counseling books.  Scattered throughout this hilarious book are true nuggets of wisdom that every couple should know about.  Rick and Bubba share personal stories of their lives, in a fun, easy-going way, while giving advice on how God wants our marriages to be.

I particularly enjoyed “The Book of Blame”, and hope to one day pass it down to my daughter (with revisions, of course!).  “The Rematch” made me laugh so hard that I ended up having to read it to my husband so I could share the humor of the situation with him.

I had a lot of fun reading this book, and I plan to give this book as a gift to the next couple I know who is getting married.  Pick it up if you’re looking for a slightly different book on marriage.  You can click on the picture above to see it on Amazon.
